The National Board for Certification of School Nurses (NBCSN) has developed and implements the voluntary certification process of school nurses. Those who successfully complete the certification exam earn the credential NCSN, National Certified School Nurse.  

Some states have a unique state-level certification, credential or license for school nurses. Check with the school nursing leaders in your area for more information.
