Hello! I have been a school nurse since 2007, first in Florida and since 2009 in Illinois. I work at an elementary school with 600 students in a lower-socioeconomic area in Northeastern Illinois. I recently became a Certified School Nurse in the State of Illinois along with obtaining my PEL (Professional Educator's License). In my district, we receive an extra $1500 per year if we become Nationally certified, so I plan to sit for the exam in November. Since I just took the Illinois School Nurse Exam in January I feel fairly prepared, but welcome any support I can get. I am also a mom to five kids ranging in age from 19 months to 17 years.
