More than 2.6 million grandparents are raising almost 6 million grandchildren in the United States. School nurses are in a unique position to work with families to support health and well‐being and to link them to resources for assistance. This course will share what we know about the challenges faced by grandparents who are parenting grandchildren. It will also explore how specific school nursing interventions with custodial grandparents can help to alleviate family stress and promote student wellness.
