Keisha Major, MSN, NCSN, RN

    


Bio

Keisha ES Major, MSN-Ed, BA, RN, NCSN was a school nurse in Prince George’s County in Maryland for 1.5 years and more recently an administrator in both Howard and Prince George’s Counties in Maryland for the past 18.5 years.  She’s an administrative who provides nursing support to over 30 professional nurses assigned to comprehensive high schools, middle schools, elementary schools and early childhood education (including Infant-Toddler and Child Find programs).  Prior to becoming a school nurse, Keisha worked as a NICU staff nurse at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring Maryland and Surgical CV Step-down staff nurse at Washington Hospital Center.

Keisha graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from University of Maryland, College Park in 1997, Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Maryland University at Baltimore in 1999, and received her Master of Science in Nursing Education from Walden University in 2007. She is Nationally Board Certified School Nurse.

Keisha is the currently the NASN Board of Director for Maryland and Executive Committee member (June 2017 to June 2019). She served as past-president and professional development of the Maryland Association of School Health Nurses (MASHN).  As NASN Board of Director, Keisha is the Chair of the NASN Programs Strategic Planning Committee.  Keisha is also member of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc (Professional Nursing Sorority) since 2012 serving as her chapter's treasurer and president.
