Bio

Catherine Davis BSN, RN, NCSN is a 1976 graduate of the University of Alabama Birmingham. She began her nursing career as an ICU/CCU nurse in Ocean Springs, MS with the Singing River Hospital System. She began her school nursing career in 1992 with Opelika City Schools. She has two intermediate schools,3rd thru 5th grade, she covers every day plus is lead nurse to three RNs in the nine building site system.

Catherine has served in all elected and committee positions in Alabama Association of School Nurses. She has served on NASN board of directors from 2011-2014.

Catherine serves on the Diabetes task force with the Alabama State Department of Education in assisting writing the "Safe at School Act" curriculum in conjunction with the Alabama Board of Nursing. This curriculum will be used to teach unlicensed volunteers in assisting children with diabetes at school. She is also on the I-health task force which is part of the ALSDE health component of the state wide online comprehensive school program.

Catherine will serves as committee chairmen for the finance committee, serve on the endowment committee, investment committee.

Catherine is married to Ross Davis, who is a cardiologist in East Alabama. They have 3 daughters, 2 son-in-laws, one granddaughter and a menagerie of pets.
