Good morning,

Like most of you, we have always found it difficult to find nurses to sub at school.  I've had a parent reach out and offer.  She is a Nurse Practitioner.  I know they have a different scope of practice, but can she be used as a substitute school nurse?  If so, what specifics do I need to manage?  

(I am in a private school in Oklahoma.)

That is an interesting question - and I would refer you to Gayle Black, Kelli Carter, and possibly Gina Stafford. She is the Associate Director for Nursing Practice with the Oklahoma Board of Nursing.
