  • 1.  School Nurses Considered as Critical Infrastructure Workers?

    We have had several bouts of our school nurses being quarantined as a result of close contact. As of September 11th the CDC guidance was updated to state that critical infrastructure workers do not need to quarantine as a result of close contact unless symptomatic. So, are school nurses included in this as  "healthcare and public health" are listed as one of the 16 critical infrastructures? Additionally has anyone successfully implemented this and had a nurse return after potential exposure? Link to guidance: CDC Interim Guidance For Critical Infrastructure Workers

    To answer your question, school nurses are not considered "critical infrastructure workers." I will refer you to another CDC section: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/schools-childcare/school-nurses-hcp.html and view the CDC recommendations for healthcare workers.
