I want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate those of you who are coming back to retake the NCSN exam - that takes courage, resilience, and determination. I am so proud of you for not giving up.

I want you to know - you're not alone. I failed my NCLEX twice, and it was the third time that I passed. The difference wasn't in what I knew - it was in how I tested. Once I focused on test-taking strategies, everything changed. I already had the knowledge; I just needed to learn how to show it in the way the exam measures it.

So, if you're testing again, or for the first time, hold your head high. You've come so far already, and every attempt brings you one step closer to success. You've got this - and we're all cheering you on!

Good luck to everyone taking the test soon!  200 questions seems daunting, but take it one question at a time.  You are able to flag questions as you go, so I came back to those after I had answered them all.  Then I didn't second guess myself!  Go with your initial thoughts...it's usually correct!  Pay close attention to words like FIRST, PRIORITY, BEST, etc. I definitely had a wide variety of questions from all aspects of the study book.  Make sure to read over sections and take practice tests on areas that are harder for you.  If I can do this, you all can too!  Best of luck!

And it was another failed exam...do not think I'll sit for a 4th time for it.  I actually felt confident about it and while taking it, I know it doesn't define me as a nurse but I think of this road has ended for me.

Good luck to those taking it and Congrats to those who have passed.

what did you use to study? I am using the review book, the flashcard book, practice test exams, and reviewing the test taking strategies....Sometimes I feel that is not enough....I know its the way the questions are asked..I know the content. I have always struggled with tests and my anxiety goes through the roof too.

    Hi Meggan,

I have used the review book, flashcards, practice tests and then looking up the answers in the review book from the practice tests to highlight. I then go back to all the unhighlighted sections and make my own flashcards to review. Taking several days, to just read each chapter one at a time.  I'd love to do an in-person review, but that's costly and not close to where I live.  Make sure to breathe and take your time.........you'll do fine.

For me, I knew the content, it was brushing up on my test taking strategies. So if you struggle with testing, I would use the free test taking course that is offered in week 1. I would take the practice exams over and over and apply the strategies. DO the questions in the back of the review book as well. I used the flachcard book as well!

    Hello everyone,

I took the exam this morning and PASSED! I used the study guide, review cards, the practice exams, and I also did the Nurse Builders E-Course. I highly recommend these items to help you in your study efforts. Read, Review, Practice, Repeat, is what I did over and over until I could answer almost every item in the study cards by heart. I know this information is now engrained into my practice. I am wishing you all success on your exam and you CAN do it!!

    Hi Denise,

Your perseverance is admirable. Don't doubt yourself. Review those areas on the test blueprint where you feel less confident. Read each question carefully and focus on "what is this question asking?" Look for keywords like best and first. Most of all, take a breath and believe in yourself. You can do this! Good luck.
