National Certification Exam Candidates

Hi!

I was wondering how many of us have upcoming tests and when they are?  

Mine is March 30th and I am trying not to become anxious as I wait for the day to arrive.  I am listening to the Nurse Builders Program with Dr. Selekman, reviewing my review book, Review Study Cards and the Practice Exams.   What things have you done to prepare?  What are you finding helpful?

Mine is March 28.  I am retesting from November and honestly have had a hard time picking it back up because I studied so hard the first time and still didn't pass.  I haven't purchased any extra resources, but I did listen to flash cards on Quizlet constantly, read the School Nursing Comprehensive Text, studied the Review Book, made my own flashcards of everything in the review book and memorized them.  This time I am focusing more on memorizing the entire immunization schedule ( I honestly didnt think much of that besides Tdap would be on the test because why would we need to memorize that info when pediatric nurses in doctors offices don't even have to- they have charts and we have 121 forms), learning the formula for calculating insulin, reviewing stages of development, cranial nerves, and test taking strategies.

I had my test on the 7th. I passed but was very nervous as I submitted. I used the study book and the practice tests only. I didn't want to overload myself with too much information. 

Make sure to really take your time and read and reread the question. I liked the feature to flag a question so I could make sure to return to it.

My test is on Monday, 3/24!  I have been listening to the Nurse Builders videos with Dr. Selekman, reviewing the review book/comprehensive text, completed both practice tests (and passed both), creating my own flashcards for the questions I missed on the practice test or things I am struggling to remember.  

I am curious how indicative the practice tests are for passing the real test.   Any insight from those who did both already?  (Not asking for specifics).

Hi All! I tested this past Saturday and passed. I felt that it was a "hard" test until I went back through and checked my answers. I have bad test anxiety so after reviewing the questions I was able to fully read the question and have a clear mind to answer. My advice would be to read the full answer slowly and prioritize your answers. Good luck everyone and Congrats to the other students who have passed!!
