    Hello and good morning!

    I have a few questions.
1- Clarification about a sample test question in the nurse builders-mSession 9- First Aid.  The question asked "what is NOT appropriate when a student's tooth gets knocked out".
Options were A-soak in milk, B- place back in socket, C- Rinse with water and D- Place in sterile container with chlorhexidine.
I chose C- because I thought it is NOT recommended to use tap water on an exposed tooth root.
The correct answer was D (which I considered ---though I wasn't sure what chlorhexidine was-- I thought it could be another name for Hank's Balanced solution).
So... It is OK to rinse the tooth in tap water, not store the tooth in tap water... correct?

2- I thought Impetigo was caused primarily by a staphylococcus infection-- My research shows it can be cause by either staph of strep infection.  Is this correct? Do you think there will be test question that lists both staph and strep? If so, what would be the correct answer?

3-This question may have come up and I missed the response(I apologize)..... What percentage of correct practice test questions would give an idea of how well your study/prep is going?

4- When I arrive to the testing center (I am scheduled for the end of July)-- Is there going to be a log in process or something to begin the testing..... Do I register somewhere/somehow to get a user name/password?

    Thank you for you assistance!!

    Hi Gretchen,

Here are my thoughts on your questions

So, regarding the tooth – from the sample nurse builders questions yes rinsing in tap  water is ok

Impetigo- I don't think they will get to specific on cause just signs and symptoms, time contagious and treatment

Test center- I just scheduled my test for August 5th (gulp!) Test centers usually have a check in process for people taking exams. Usually they check your ID, assign you a storage space (locker with key) check your pockets and then take you to your assigned computer. It's like taking the NCLEX.

As for percentage of practice questions I think Janice Selekman answered that with there really is no data to answer the question. Mostly because everyone uses different study resources.

I'm in Connecticut where are you?  I am using the online study group, the nurse builders course, the review book (currently 2020 edition) and the Comprehensive textbook. I plan to purchase the NBCSN practice exams and may get the updated review book.
