study tips

To anyone who has taken the test recently, my test is Friday and I'm asking for tips on what to focus on at this point? I am retesting from November.  I know I won't have the same test as last time but I have tried to review things I remember from my test in November.  Just looking for some guidance as I try to make the best use of the few days I have left.  I have done several practice tests, read over lots of test taking strategies and focused on the sections I didn't do as well in.  Thank you!

I studied the practice tests and the study cards. I felt they were helpful with taking my exam. I went back through the exam and reread the question before submitting the exam. Good luck! You got this!!!

Be sure to review the test taking tips in the front of the review book. I was greatly intimidated to even take the test due to the multiple choice nature of the test. The test taking tips helped me to weed out the distracting answers and gave the best approach to questions when I was completely unsure of any answer. I was able to pass, and I think I used every technique listed. Best of luck!

I too just retested this past week (my last test was November 2024). I did see some of the same questions as the first test (maybe like 25-20). If you focus on the practice questions from the chapters and see which ones you don't know right away -I think those are the things to focus on.

This is so helpful! I'm so overwhelmed all of a sudden with what I haven't re-studied.  Thank you so much for this advice!

    Hello,

I will be retesting in July and was wondering what you study differently?  I really thought the test was hard and I felt prepared and study everything I could.  I am wondering if I should even try again?  Just wondering if the second attempt is easier or even worth trying?  Thank you for your help!

    Hi Jody,

I'm in the same boat, retesting in July too.  I studied so much the first time and missed passing by 2 questions.  This time

I feel like I should just review questions.  But sometimes I feel like I shouldn't bother taking it again.  Some of the questions on the

first test were completely out of left field for me.  I found it very hard.  Hopefully this time I pass.

    Good Morning everyone,
I am retaking the exam this summer for the 3rd time. I thought that I had completed all the study guides, listened to the lecture etc but i think some things like vaccines and growth charts were not something that I studied much.
Don't give up I know it is very costly to us all, but well get it sooner than later

Best of luck, Denise!  I found going through the review book's section on vaccines and writing out notes for each vaccine and it's unique facts very helpful!  Also printed off charts for developmental phases and the ages associated with them.  I would just read this over often each time I went into studying.
