In-Person NASN2025 Attendees, I hope you are as excited as I am for In-Person NASN2025. The Endowment Fundraising Committee has three fundraisers happening during the conference: "Satchels and Purses for Nurses" silent auction, Donations at the Door, and the President's Challenge, all proceeds benefit the Endowment Fund.

    Satchels and Purses for Nurses:

Satchels and Purses for Nurses silent auction starts this Thursday, June 26th. The auction will be an "online-only, anytime-bidding" auction, in other words there will be no paper bidding sheets. The auction will open Thursday, June 26th at 10:15 AM and closes at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 28th. Here is the link to preview the online catalog and bidding site or click on "auction" on the conference app or the QR code below. An account is not needed to view the items. If you want to bid on a purse/satchel it is easy to create an account.  Click on create an account: enter your name, email address, and online bidding name. There is an option to receive text messages about the items you are watching and/or are bidding on, just check the box and enter your phone number. NO CREDIT CARD INFORMATION IS REQUIRED, you will pay NASN directly if you are the highest bidder on an item.

Looking is Good, Bidding is Better!

    How do I bid?

Click on the item, enter your bid amount, click on "Exact Bid" or "Proxy Bid", and then submit your bid

    • Exact Bid: An exact bid is the amount you want the item's current selling price to immediately jump to.

    • Proxy Bid: A proxy bid allows you to enter the maximum amount you're willing to spend. The system will bid for you, up to your maximum proxy bid amount, as additional bids are entered on the item.

      • To enter a proxy bid, enter your maximum bid amount, click the Proxy Bid button, and then submit your bid. Rest assured, your maximum proxy bid amount is never exposed to anyone other than you during the online auction.

    How does proxy bidding work?

    • Let's say an item is currently selling for $50 and you're willing to bid as high as $100. You would enter a proxy bid of $100 and allow the system to automatically bid for you until you win the item or the selling price goes higher than $100. If the selling price goes higher than your maximum proxy bid amount, you'll be outbid and someone else will be the leading bidder. You'll only owe the amount the system has bid for you if you win the item. This amount will never be higher than your maximum proxy bid amount.

    • A proxy bid is entered as a single bid but the proxy bid can show up in the bid history multiple times. The additional proxy bid entries are created when the system automatically bids for the leading proxy bid as previously explained. The bid history always shows the winning bid amount at the top of the list.

The auction will extend the bidding end time of an item by 3 minutes when it receives a bid during the final 3 minutes. This process repeats until no new bids are received during the final 3 minutes of the item bidding window or the auction has been extended for a maximum of 30 minutes beyond the original end time.

    Donations at the Door:

The NASN Directors will be collecting donations for the Endowment Fund at the doors at the end of the general sessions during the conference. Look for Directors with bags at the doors. You may donate cash or checks or there will be a QR code on the bag to scan that will take you to NASN's website for credit cards.

Donate to the NASN President's Endowment Challenge:

Traditionally, each NASN President establishes an Endowment Fund Challenge. NASN President Kate King has chosen "Advocating for Equity". You may donate online using this link or the QR Code below.

    What is the Endowment Fund?

Since its inception in 2008, the National Association of School Nurses (NASN) Endowment Fund has supported scholarships and research. In June 2013, NASN achieved a major milestone by raising one million dollars for the Endowment Fund. Today, ongoing donations help sustain and grow the fund, ensuring the continued availability of scholarships and grants. The fund grows each year due to generous donations, most often sought by the Endowment Fundraising Committee.

Each year, nurses can apply for scholarship awards including: The Endowment Education Scholarship, The Advocacy Education Scholarship, The RN to BSN Education Advancement Scholarship, The New Member Scholarship, and The Diversity in School Nursing Scholarship. The availability of these awards is directly related to the account balance of the Endowment Fund and market fluctuations in interest rates. NASN is committed to growing the fund balance to allow for continuation and expansion of the scholarships and awards given.

Scholarships are available only to current NASN members. Additional information and application requirements can be found at NASN.org under "Membership" then "Just for NASN members."

Hope to see you all soon and thank you for supporting the NASN Endowment Fund

    Endowment Fundraising Committee Chair
