Continuing Education

The quality of nursing practice is directly linked to the practitioner's body of knowledge and level of skills.
The availability of national, regional, state, and local educational activities related to practicing in the school setting, benefits the school nurse and the children and communities served.

The National Association of School Nurses is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. For details on continuing education events provided by NASN, click on the menu items listed on the right.

Co-providing Continuing Education with NASN
In addition to NASN as sole developer and provider of continuing education for school nurses, NASN can also develop and provide continuing nursing education with affiliated groups. If your next event is for a school nurse audience and you want to work with NASN to develop your program for NASN continuing education credits, contact NASN today to discuss the co-develop process. (note: If you have a program that has already been developed and needs approval for continuing education, you will want to contact an ANCC accredited approver of continuing education. State Continuing Education Information for attendees of an NASN provided offering:

California: NASN is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing: Provider #CE•P 12292

New Jersey: NASN is approved by the New Jersey Department of Education: ID#430

Nurses licensed in other states, who have concerns about recognition by their state of NASN provided CNE contact hours, are encouraged to, first, direct any questions to the authoritative body in that state.

NOTE: NASN keeps Continuing Education records for 5 years. If your state requires you to keep your records longer than 5 years, it is the responsibility of the individual to keep those records.
