Director of Nursing - The National Association of School Nurses print version Posting date: 05/20/2010 Closing date: Open until filled Position title: Director of Nursing Job Type: Permanent, Full-time, Exempt Reports to: NASN Executive Director Position Description, Responsibilities and Qualifications: The National Association of School Nurses is seeking a Masters or Doctoral prepared nurse to manage the continuing nursing education provider unit and assist with development of position statements and issue briefs. This nurse will work with NASN leadership on the development and revision of policy and position statements. He or she will work closely with the advocacy and research functions to help advance the profession of school nursing. NASN is a dynamic organization and this nurse will be expected to assist with the strategic work of the organization as time allows. Position reports directly to NASN Executive Director and supervises administrative staff on specific projects. Excellent writing skills and a grounded understanding of school nursing practice are critical. The full time position is based in Washington, D.C. area.
