NASN Announces Interim CEO

Carol Walsh, PMP, chief operating officer, to step into role

Silver Spring, Md. — The National Association of School Nurses announced today that Carol Walsh, PMP, chief operating officer, will serve as Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective May 1, 2023. Carol joined the NASN staff in 2018, and currently serves as deputy to the executive director, with specific responsibility for professional development and programming and oversight of NASN’s portfolio of grant and contract funded opportunities. Executive Director Donna Mazyck will retire as of April 28.

“We are delighted that Carol Walsh has agreed to take on the Interim CEO role as NASN selects the next NASN CEO,” says Linda Mendonca, DNP, Med, PHNA-BC, NCSN, FNASN, NASN President. “Carol brings knowledge of NASN operations and governance and expertise in association and project management.”

NASN has engaged Donna Godfrey, Executive Search Consultant, to facilitate the process of selecting its next CEO/Executive Director.
