Catherine F. Yonkaitis Named Editor of NASN School Nurse

SILVER SPRING, MD— Catherine F. Yonkaitis, DNP, RN, NCSN PHNA-BC, has been named the new editor of the NASN School Nurse, effective January 1, 2024.

Cathy received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2017 and her Master of Science in Nursing and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Connecticut in 1992 and 1986, respectively.

She has more than 20 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, Nurse Care Manager, and School Nurse. Cathy is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor and the Director, Advanced Population Health DNP program at the University of Illinois Chicago.

In 2022, she won the NASN Recognition Award for her unique contribution to NASN as a member of the Scope and Standards of School Nursing Practice writing team. Cathy currently serves on the NASN Board of Directors and is an editor of NASN's School Nursing: A Comprehensive Text.
