NASN Names 2024 National Academy of School Nursing Fellows

Silver Spring, MD, March 8, 2024—The National Association of School Nurses (NASN) recently named eight professionals for induction into the National Academy of School Nursing. They are:

  • Jane Carol Boyd, Delaware
  • Sharon Guthrie, Iowa
  • Kathleen A. Hassey, Massachusetts
  • Lisa Kern, Florida
  • Lynnette Ondeck, Washington
  • Cynthia E. Samuel, New Jersey
  • Louise F. Wilson, Wisconsin
  • Catherine Yonkaitis, Illinois

The following valued partners have been named as Honorary Fellows:

  • Gloria Durgin, Maine
  • Susan Rogers, Illinois
  • Rob Rogers, Illinois
  • Pat Roberts, Maine

The induction ceremony will take place Friday, June 28, 2024, during the Annual Business Meeting at the NASN2024 Conference in Chicago, Illinois.

The honor of Fellow is the most prestigious recognition that members can receive from NASN. It is a symbol of superior achievement in school nursing and exceptional contributions to NASN. The depth and breadth of the Fellow’s imprint on the field is extraordinary. Their contributions have had significant and enduring impact to the professional association and more broadly to school health and student well-being. 

Being named an Honorary Fellow is a prestigious recognition to recognize committed contributors and supporters of the NASN vision that all students are healthy, safe, and ready to learn.

The National Academy of School Nursing Fellows was founded in 1997 and has inducted 119 school nursing fellows.
