Are You Visible in the Online Directory?

By Sharon Conley, BA posted 10-19-2022 17:07

The online directory "shows" up on the NASN website in 3 different ways.

  1. There is a directory of NASN members;
  2. There is a directory of NASN customers, which includes NASN members; and
  3. There is a director of community members within each community including the All Member Forum.

How do you control whether you are visible in the directory or not?

There is one privacy setting that controls this. It is in your NASN account privacy settings.

IMPORTANT: Privacy controls for your address, phone, and email are in a different location.

By default, this information is only visible to you.

Review the privacy settings for your address, phone and email in your website profile privacy settings.

Why should you be visible in the online directory?

The online directory is very private.

Your address is ONLY visible to you unless you change your website profile privacy settings.

Your phone numbers are ONLY visible to you unless you change your website profile privacy settings.

Your email is ONLY visible to you unless you change your website profile privacy settings.

The online directory makes it possible for your peers to send you direct email messages.

IMPORTANT: Manage what is included in your discussion list signature.

When you post a message to a discussion list, your signature will be appended to the end. You can manage what is in your signature in your website profile. The Code of Conduct asks that you include at least your name and credentials.
