Are You Visible in the Online Directory?

By Sharon Conley, BA posted 10-19-2022 17:07

How the online directory "shows" up on the NASN website.

  1. The global directory; search members only, or all individuals.
  2. The community directory; each community has a directory of its membrs.

How to choose if you are visible in the directory.

There is one privacy setting that controls this.
Go to the online directory setting in your NASN account to adjust your visibility (look for the setting in the image below).*

*IMPORTANT: Privacy controls for your address, phone, and email are in a different location.

By default, this information is always ONLY visible to you.

Review your address, phone and email privacy settings in your website profile privacy settings.

Why you should choose to be visible in the online directory.

The online directory is very private.

Your address is ONLY visible to you unless you change your website profile privacy settings.

Your phone numbers are ONLY visible to you unless you change your website profile privacy settings.

Your email is ONLY visible to you unless you change your website profile privacy settings.

The online directory makes it possible for your peers to send you direct email messages and invite you to join communities.

IMPORTANT: Manage what is included in your discussion list signature.

When you post a message to a discussion list, your signature will be appended to the end. You can manage what is in your signature in your website profile. The Code of Conduct asks that you include at least your name and credentials.
