Allergies and Anaphylaxis

National Guidelines

The following national guidelines can assist school nurses in developing or enhancing a comprehensive evidence-based food allergy management program at school.

Voluntary Guidelines for Managing Food Allergies In Schools and Early Care and Education Programs - This resource from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) provides practical information and planning steps for parents, district administrators, school administrators and staff, and ECE program administrators and staff to develop or strengthen plans for food allergy management and prevention.

National Academies of Sciences Consensus Study - The Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) is the lead sponsor of this report, which recommends six actions to improve the quality of life and health of individuals with food allergies.
