TRANSITION TO VIRTUAL EXPERIENCE

After thoughtful consideration, NASN is transitioning NASN2020 and NASN2020 Livestream into a virtual experience.

We are excited about this new virtual direction as it provides our community an even more inclusive opportunity to come together in a time when we truly need each other. Virtual NASN2020 will kick off on the same dates, with a new look, an updated lineup including exciting new additions, and exciting new approaches to speaker engagement and interactivity with attendees.

The educational program will include many of the previously scheduled general sessions, breakout sessions and posters.  The program will also include a virtual exhibit hall, annual business meeting, award recognition, vendor demonstrations, and opportunities for engagement and interaction-- just all in a virtual environment. This was felt to be the best and safest course of action after careful consideration of the evolving COVID-19 pandemic.

School nurses play a critical role in ensuring that students are healthy, safe and ready to learn. We are excited about the opportunity Virtual NASN2020 can provide to convene our community in pursuit of optimizing student health and learning by advancing the practice of school nursing—a mission that is more important today than ever before.

The NASN conference team is currently working through details to support this transition and we will be sharing updates via this website and NASN’s social media sites.

GENERAL QUESTIONS

Q. Why did NASN decided to transition NASN2020 to a virtual event?

As the date for NASN2020 drew near, our primary focus has been the health and safety of our event participants.

We value the critical role that NASN2020 plays for our attendees, our presenters, our sponsors and our exhibitors. It is a celebration, a convening, a chance for members, NASN affiliate school nurse organizations, and NASN special interest group members to engage, a chance to connect with exhibitors and key partners and learn about what is new in their offerings, and a chance to present and share the latest practice trends and topics with school nurses around the world.

We knew that it was important that NASN2020 happen, and we knew it was important that it happen in a way that was in the best interest of the health and safety of all involved. Virtual NASN2020 is a way to make that happen.

Q. What do you mean by a virtual event?

NASN focused on an alternative solution that will provide an engaging, accessible, and inclusive platform to convene our school nurse community, enabling us to connect, to learn, to share knowledge, and to advance school nursing practice.

A virtual event is also flexible. The four day program will include sessions that will be streamed starting at 11 AM Eastern and ending around 4:30 PM Eastern. Sessions in the program can be viewed as they are streamed or viewed at the convenience of the attendee for 90 days.

For those who crave more content or more CNE contact hours, a library of "PLUS" sessions can be viewed anytime for 90 days.

NASN is working quickly to develop an informative and engaging virtual experience, allowing participants to easily access important topics, research, and content that was originally developed for the onsite experience. The new virtual experience will also provide opportunities for participants to connect and share knowledge. Specifics regarding the new virtual experience will be shared in the coming weeks.

Q. Will the virtual event be held on the original scheduled dates?

Virtual NASN2020 will kick off on the same dates, June 30, 2020 - July 3, 2020 but with new time slots for speakers. In addition, an orientation will be offered on June 29, 2020 so that attendees can get a look at the virtual platform and get acquainted with using it.  Full program and schedule.

NASN exhibitors are a critical partner in the success of our event. Our attendees count on their products, programs, services and resources, which are critical to their success. NASN counts on our exhibitors' support too -- to help us advance the cause of school and student health, and to provide the resources that support our mission -- more important then ever in this time of COVID-19.

We know our exhibitors have a lot of choices as to where they will invest their marketing and sponsorship dollars, and we hope that they choose to continue to invest them with NASN. While we hope to see all of our exhibitors at Virtual NASN2020, if an exhibitor does not choose to participate in the virtual conference, the amount paid can be applied to advertising opportunities or refunded.
