The average age of experimentation has dropped from 17 years old in 1973 to 11 years old in 2013. 41% of youth believe prescription drug use is "safe". We need to talk to our children EARLY and OFTEN! School Nurses are on the front lines and are trusted resources in the community. We can provide early education and awareness, help erase the stigma of addiction and offer resources and hope to struggling students and families.
