Hope to see you on July 1st! Come and hear about what can be done in your community to help battle the #1 Public Health problem of prescription drug and OTC abuse. The average age of experimentation has dropped from 17 years old in 1973 to 11 years old in 2013. 41% of youth believe prescription drug use is "safe". We need to talk to our children EARLY and OFTEN! School Nurses are on the front lines and are trusted resources in the community. We can provide early education and awareness, help erase the stigma of addiction and offer resources and hope to struggling students and families.

Many questions have arisen regarding how school nurses fit in with the Affordable Care Act and how school nurses can ensure inclusion. At the same time, legislation regarding epinephrine and other issues arise each year in state. Everyone is welcome to come to the roundtable discussions scheduled in San Antonio at the NASN 46th Annual Conference. Come to hear success stories and network with school nurse colleagues in other states to learn what is going on and ask questions.
