I am a nationally certified school nurse working in the Dumont Public Schools for the past 18 years. My 30+ year career encompasses a variety of hospital-based positions in medical surgical and pediatric settings. I have experience as a nursing supervisor, manager and nursing educator. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Boston College in 1985, a Master of Science in School Nursing from Monmouth University in 2008 and a post-graduate certificate in Forensic Nursing from Monmouth University in 2014. I was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honors Society in 2008 and have served on the executive board of the New Jersey State School Nurses Association since 2011. I currently serve as the President. I am also a Johnson & Johnson School Health Leadership Fellow.
I believe that the health of our youth reflects the health of our society and that every child deserves a school nurse. I feel it is important that as a school nurse that I promote school and community wellness and deliver high-quality, evidenced-based care in the school setting.
