Bio

Amy E. Dark, MSN, BA, RN, practiced school nursing in Rhode Island for 16 years. She served on NASN's Board of Directors (2019-2024) and Executive Committee (2021-2023) as well as chairing the NASN Ethics Committee. She currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Maine Association of School Nurses as the Amanda Rowe Scholarship chair. Amy is a certified K-12 health educator and completed the year long School Health Leadership Program through Northeastern University School Health Academy.  Amy is using her passion for school nursing, public health promotion, and vaccine advocacy as a Doctor of Nursing Practice student at the University of New Hampshire. This summer, Amy will implement her DNP project which focuses on the role of the school nurse in Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine hesitancy. Amy is excited to work with NASN as a Nursing Education and Practice Specialist to provide education programs and resources for school nurse colleagues.
