Please send positive thoughts to our colleagues in Houston who may be struggling to get their exam taken. I had signed up to take the exam on the first day of the testing window, which happened to be the day that Hurricane Beryl hit. The testing center I was scheduled at was without power for 9 days, causing me to have to reschedule my exam twice. I was finally able to take the exam a couple of days ago and passed! After months of studying and stressing about exam day, having to reschedule it and to make myself keep studying was mentally and emotionally challenging. As of a few days ago, there were still testing centers in our area without power and there are still many homes that have not had power restored yet. My advice for anyone in Houston who has had to postpone their exam and is struggling to stay motivated to study with everything else going on around here-- take a brain break until a day or two before your exam. Then, do as many practice questions as you can, and study up on topics of questions you missed. I used the practice tests in the review book and purchased a practice exam. I also used the Challenge the School Nurse archived questions-- one of the few free options for study resources. The last thing I did the night before my exam was re-read the exam review e-course book because it is a nice summary of info to cram. You've got this! We Houstonians will get through this stronger on the other side, as we always do!
Also, I really appreciated this study group-- the structured studying schedule was so helpful. There is so much information to review, I wouldn't have even known where to start without this group!
