Thankfully I passed earlier this week. I've been a school nurse for 10 years and had prior clinical experiences with peds. I primarily studied the review book - over and over. I also bought the practice tests and, though I don't recall any repeat questions on the actual exam, the practice tests were helpful in becoming familiar with how the questions would be presented. Honestly one of my biggest challenges was keeping focused for the entire 200 question test! Typically in my work day, I am interrupted and distracted ALL DAY LONG. So, spending almost 2 hours focusing on the test was difficult for me.
I am so thankful to the State of Missouri for encouraging its school nurses to apply for certification. Our review course and test fees were covered by them for the last 2 test cycles. I wouldn't have ever attempted without their subsidy. I have also seen many other Missouri school nurses on this board who have passed. So, congrats to all!
