    Hello,
I am very discouraged at this point. I have sat for the exam 3 times and failed all three. I have been studying, online course, flash cards. I am thinking about getting a masters at this point. For the state of MA to work in public you either need a masters degree to pass this exam. Just wanted to vent. Thanks for listening

I am so sorry to hear. Don't give up. I know my information but I am not a great test taker. I stress myself out. I did not pass my first time. My second time I took in on March 25th and totally changed the way I reviewed. I started reading the review book in January, here and there. In February I was reviewing 3-4 nights a week. Once march hit I reviewed every night from 1 1/2 -2 hrs. I purchased the practice quizzes. I took them probably 5 times for each test. I also took the end of chapter tests several times. I made a copy of them and highlighted the correct answers and reviewed them over and over. I hope this helps.

Thank you for sharing Jessica. I have worked as pediatric nurse for over 23 years. I have my Masters in Public Health. I thought I had prepared myself for the exam. Working full-time, being a wife and a mother of two boys with active sports calendars, I put in as much study time as I could. However, there were so many issues with the online testing and my accommodations not being implemented at the testing site, the test has been rescheduled for the summer. Timed test gives me anxiety. Filling rushed to finish all the questions and not having time to review. Now that I'm older my mind process things differently. Some things that I have reviewed in preparing for the exam I have not encountered in my seven years as a school nurse.  We only fail if we don't try again, again, again. WE CAN DO IT!

    Hello Jessica,
I can relate to your frustration, I have taken the test 4 times and failed each time. My plan is to keep studying and take the test again. I have asked to join a study group and hope that will help. Each time I come so close but can not seem to get over that hump. I have 2 kids one is a teacher and one is in their senior year of collage. The one good thing from all of this is that it has shown them to hang in there and keep moving forward if an obstacle gets in your way. Have a great day.

Hi there!  I am sorry you are so frustrated!  Studying for this test is stressful. Especially so if you need it to work, I am sure!  Keep studying, you can do this.  I love the other advice you were given in this thread, I wish I had seen it before I had taken my test, as I feel like I would have been less anxious going into it.  This test tests your knowledge, and I bet on any given day, you know each and every one of the answers.  Tests put us all on the spot!  One of the BEST nurses I know took the NCLEX five times, and I'm telling you, if I was ever in an emergency situation, I want him taking care of me!  Good luck!

    Don't give up!
