I think I would wait to see what they say- if they haven't had a school nurse do this before (or recently) they may just not be aware. As soon as they look into the certification they should easily see that it is a national board certification. Unless there is small print in the contract that stipulates which specific certs are included? This is THE national school nurse certification board as far as that goes. Crossing my fingers for you that this is just a blip and they will learn and you will be provided your stipend! If not, that's when I would reach out to the board for assistance.
I've not yet sat for the exam for what it's worth. Congrats to you btw!

Well, I'm stumped. I passed my exam and proudly sent in my certification to my admin. This was the reply:
"I have forwarded this onto (superintendent). I have never seen this before and I want to make sure it qualifies for that national board certification criteria that is in the contract."
I have no idea how to proceed. Any thoughts on how to explain that this is indeed a national board certification? Contract says district shall provide a stipend for National Board Certification as long as the certification is maintined by the profesisonal employee while employed by the district. (wording was changed from last contract to read professional employee and not teacher in order to include all the other professionals likes nurses/guidance counselors). But I think they are only used to seeing National Certification from the teachers, so maybe don't know one exists for the rest of us?
Should I reach out to someone on the National certification board for a personalized letter explaining what this is? I really don't know where to go from here.
Any thoughts appreciated
