In New Jersey, we still perform a scoliosis screening in 5th and 7th grade.

Maybe this statement might help you know why many states stopped this recommended school screening a bit of time ago: https://www.uspreventiveservicestaskforce.org/uspstf/document/RecommendationStatementFinal/adolescent-idiopathic-scoliosis-screening#:~:text=Children%20and%20adolescents%20are%20usually,with%20or%20without%20scoliometer%20measurement.&text=In%20general%2C%20patients%20with%20a,be%20recommended%20at%20this%20time. we have not included this in school screening for almost 10 yrs in Mn (from my 'dusty' head recall).... But thank you for the question... Yes, NBCSN test writers will attempt to separate local practice vs national recommendations....

Subject: Practice Question
I just took one of the practice exams and have a question that tripped me up. They asked why we do not screen for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. Except in PA, we do screen for scoliosis as one of the state requirements for 6th and 7th graders. The answer is there is little to no evidence on long-term outcomes for AIS treated in adolescence. In doing more research to determine if there was a difference between scoliosis and AIS, it appears that 80% of adolescent scoliosis is idiopathic. So is my state an outlier in mandating scoliosis screening or is there something else in the question I am missing?
