My name is Sarah Portle, and I am so excited to welcome you to our Summer 2026 NCSN online study group.
Our online course will officially begin on May 22, 2026, and new course posts will be shared each Friday throughout the study period. This course is designed to help you stay organized, focused, and connected as you prepare for the Summer 2026 NCSN exam.
Each week, there will be suggested reading from the review guide, along with supplemental information from the textbook. Weekly posts will also include two challenge questions and one reflection question to help reinforce key concepts and support your preparation.
I am so glad you are here, and I look forward to learning alongside you this summer. 💙

Review Guide (Available from NBCSN): Selekman, J. & Knox, E. (Eds.). (2025). School Nursing Certification Review. (4th edition). National Board for Certification of School Nurses.
Textbook: Shannon, R. & Yonkaitis, C. (Eds.). (2025). School Nursing: A Comprehensive Text (4th edition). F.A. Davis Company.
Review Guide Chapter 4, Health Problems and Nursing Management, is no longer treated as a standalone exam domain under the updated NBCSN exam blueprint. Instead, that content has been redistributed across the four current domains, so topics from Chapter 4 now appear throughout the exam wherever they relate to health appraisal, disease prevention, school health practice considerations, and professional responsibility. In other words, Chapter 4 is still very important content — it is just woven across the exam rather than tested as its own separate category.
