    Welcome to Week #7

This is the last week of our official study group for the Spring 2025 NBCSN Exam.

That doesn't mean we are done.  We are here if you have questions, comments, concerns, or feedback.

Week 7 in the 2020 Selekman/Cogan School Nurse Certification Review Course deals with Professional Issues and comprises 13% of the exam.

    • The Law as it relates to health and education
    • Code of Ethics (ANA/NASN)
    • Regulation of Nursing
    • Administrative Issues
    • Legal Issues
    • Use of Social Media in School Nursing

Corresponding chapters in the Selekman, Shannon, and Yonkaitis School Nursing a Comprehensive Text are Chapters 3, 8 – 10, 36 – 37.

You might be taking the exam right away, or you might be taking it towards the end of the window. You might even be preparing for another window. It doesn't matter. This community is always available courtesy of NASN. We are here to answer your questions and celebrate with you when you pass the exam.

Be sure to visit the Exam Prep page to make sure that you have taken advantage of all the materials that you feel will be helpful to you.

Best of luck everyone, keep us posted!

My test is scheduled for March 30th.  Any tips for pacing study up through the exam?  Is it best to review everything again or only focus on weak areas? I look forward to hearing about everyone's tests and success stories!

    Hi Tonya,

I would recommend going through the study guide and taking practice exams, and using that information to guide how you study as your exam date comes closer.  There are also good resources location on the NBCSN Exam Prep Website - https://nbcsn.org/exam-prep.  Best of luck!!

I took my test today and was informed immediately I passed! I thought I would have to wait for the results, but I found out seconds after clicking submit. Thank you to this group for your support. I used the review book, the two practice exams, and the Nurse Builders course. I found the Nurse Builders course to be the most helpful! Some questions were also very similar to the practice exams. Good luck and happy studying. From someone who took the NCLEX only two years ago, I found the NCSN test to be much easier and straight forward. You all will rock this!

Wow congrats!!!  I'm worried because I have tried to save as much money as possible in this whole process, so I didn't purchase the practice exams or the Nurse Builder's course.....trying to not let that worry me.  I've studied the textbook and review book, as well as plan to review the flashcards I was thankfully able to borrow from another school nurse.  I'm praying that's enough.  I have found the test questions at the end of each review chapter really helpful.

I think focusing on those practice questions at the end of each chapter will prepare you well! You've got this.

I took the test today and passed! Such a relief. Thank you Sarah for leading this group and a special thank you to Dr. Selekman who has been my constant companion for the last few weeks :) The Nurse Builders videos were a huge help. They really helped me to hone in on the areas where I needed to focus my attention. I waited a long time to do this but, I am glad I finally did. Looking forward to the next challenge!
