The Journal of School Nursing

The Journal of School Nursing (JOSN) provides a bimonthly peer-reviewed forum for improving the health of school children and the health of the school community. The JOSN seeks to engage a broad range of clinicians, scholars and community leaders in an ongoing exchange of information through scholarly articles, including original research, brief research reports, literature reviews, evidenced-based innovations in clinical practice or policy, and letters to the editor.


An online subscription* is included with a membership to NASN. Current and previous articles are indexed online.

*The print subscription to The Journal of School Nursing ended after the release of the December 2020 issue.

Journal Articles

Journal articles are located on SAGE Journals, The Journal of School Nursing, a website managed by NASN's publisher, SAGE Publishing,

First-time users of SAGE Journals will need to:

  1. Register or create a user account on SAGE Journals. This is separate from an NASN website account.
  2. Verify the email address assigned to the account. An email will be sent requesting verification.
  3. Activate your society account with your NASN ID.
