Bio

Lori Harmon, MSN, RN, NCSN, has been a registered nurse for 29 years, practicing school nursing for 20 years. She received her Master of Science in Leadership and Management from Western Governors University and is currently a school nurse at the largest school district in Missouri, Springfield Public Schools in Springfield, Missouri. Lori advocates for adolescent health and wellness, as most of her career, has been in the high school setting. Lori developed the D.I.R.E.C.T training program as part of her capstone project with her master’s program to give a systematic and fair way to assess and document the assessment of the substance-impaired adolescent. Lori is a member of the National Association of School Nurses and the Missouri Association of School Nurses and received her National Certification in School Nursing. Lori serves on the Springfield National Education Association Executive Board as the Director of Nurses and sits on the bargaining team to advocate for her fellow nurses. In her spare time, Lori enjoys weekends at the lake, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.
