24-minute video: In-context editing

• Used to edit HTML Content Items only
• Used to edit HTML Content Items on the front side of the website (no longer have to click Edit Page).
• Locate the small circle in the upper right corner of the HTML Content Item; move your mouse over it and it changes to a pencil.  Click the pencil and the editing tool opens.

In-context editing quirks

When multiple HTML Content Items are stacked on top of each other in the same column on a web page. You will only be able to edit the bottom item unless you do the following.

• Select Edit Page.
• Hide the content items that you are not editing. Save and publish the page.
• Edit the remaining unhidden content item using the in-context editing tool.
• When edits are done and save, select Edit Page again.
• Unhide the content items that you previously hid. Save and publish the page.

Adding a new document link now requires that you use both the INSERT FILE tool and the INSERT/EDIT LINK tool.

• Place your mouse where you want the new document to be located.
• Select the INSERT FILE tool to locate a file you already uploaded or upload a new file.
• Make sure the file you want is selected and then click insert.
• Be sure your mouse placed within the document link and select the INSERT/EDIT LINK tool to rename the document link.
• Save your work.

Updating an existing document link is similar to the above but slightly different.

• Place your mouse within the existing document link.
• Select the INSERT FILE tool to locate a file you already uploaded or upload a new file.
• Make sure the file you want is selected. Do NOT click insert.  
• Find the MANAGE menu option at the top of your file manager window and then select INFO
• Copy the entire URL that is in the URL space.
• Click okay after you copy it.
• Click close to return to the editor.
• Select the INSERT/EDIT LINK tool to replace the old link with the new link.
