Recognizing Sponsors
No advertising conversation is complete without talking about sponsors. If you really just want to recognize sponsors, you can use space on your site to share sponsor logos as the Louisiana Association of School Nurses has: https://www.lsno.org/home – This does require that you be somewhat skilled in design and image editing. Please feel free to reach out if you need support with this. Ideally, you would request that sponsors supply you with a logo that has a standard width; such as 200 pixels. By doing this, you can ensure that all sponsor logos are the same size.
Providing Advertisement Opportunities
Use the ad manager tool on your site. It is located under SITE OPTIONS > ADS in the admin menu that appears at the top of your site.
Option 1: Manage one or more ads on your own.
Choose the best placement of the ad. Your options include the following.
*If you choose to place ads on interior pages, you can suppress ads on pages individually using page settings. NASN does this on its About Us page; you won't see the interior ad there.
Follow the suggested ad image sizes listed for each of the placement options. When working with an advertiser, share the image size so that they provide you with the correct sized image.
As the advertiser to provide you with a link for the ad. Let them know that they will need to provide a link that will track the number of clicks. The ad manager tool will not provide you with click metrics but tracking can be accomplished through the use of links that have tracking built into them. Advertisers will know about these.
Option 2: Work with a 3rd party ad company: With an ad company, you can have rotating ads, which means you can sell more ads. See an example on NASN's website here (scroll down): https://www.nasn.org/membership/become-a-member --- The ad company provides NASN with a script or code and we place it in the ad manager tool on the site. The ad company does the rest; they sell ads and maintain the ads on another piece of software. They also maintain the script that is placed on the NASN website. If you would like the name of this company, please let me know.
