Where I work, there are no standing orders. I have always stressed about major emergencies involving anaphylaxis & acute asthma. Should someone have one of these crisis and it is a matter of life and death, could we adminiseter someone else´s EpiPen? My thinking is that if it were my child or loved one, I would want the nurse to do it because it would save his/her life.
