I took this exam for a 2nd time yesterday and unfortunately was unsuccessful yet again. I felt more prepared going into the exam this time but yet when the questions made me feel like I did not prepare at all. I do have test anxiety and took all the courses and reviewed the strategies numerous times. This is a very tough exam and I am deciding is it worth trying again. The testing site is one that I do not want to use again. The door kept opening as they would let more people in to start their test. It was a small room with 6 computers. This was a huge distraction, and then one of the people taking the test was coughing non stop. So in this small room where we were pretty close have the door open and close and then coughing, lets say test anxiety was setting in. So the testing site was a huge disappointment. The first place where I tested was great but was not a choice this time.
I think the hardest part for me is to realize this does not define the great school nurse I am. I love my job and have been a school nurse for 17 years. Being NBCSN has been a goal, luckily it is not needed for my role in my state. So do I try for attempt #3 and if I do is there a specific time frame I should try and do it?
Congrats to you all who have been successful- Way to go!!!
