How's everyone doing?

    Hi all,

As my test time is approaching, I am just reaching out to see how everyone else is doing. I have taken this test last year & didn't go so well. I am planning to take it next Friday!! I know I will pass this time since I feel more prepared, but also decided if it shouldn't go so well again I will take it at the end of July. But honestly, not planning to have to do that & will enjoy the rest of my summer. Wondering if there is any last-minute things you think I should be doing? I'm wishing you all good luck & know we will all pass! This group has been great.

Thanks so much & enjoy the beautiful weather.

    Warmly,

    Denise

I test next Friday also! I am so ready for it to be over at this point! LOL

I just keep reviewing and if something isn't sticking I've been writing it down to see if that helps me remember.

    I'm so torn.
I have been studying for 3 months and take the test in 3 weeks. I took the test years ago and failed. It shattered me. I finally decided I would try again this year.
In the past 2 weeks things have drastically changed in my work career and I needed to change jobs. I am still a CSN, but the new district doesn't compensate for national certification. My old district would have given me $2500 if I passed and $2k every following year. If I follow through and take the test I will be out $692. If I cancel I will only be out $400.
I know that taking the test and passing would make me feel accomplished, but I can't stop thinking about the extra money I could save if I just cancel.
Like I said I am so torn about this choice.

Lauren- if that $292 is life changing then cancel it (there have been times in my life where that amount could make or break me, I do understand)  but if it isn't I encourage you to take it! You will feel so amazing once you pass! :D

    Hi Lauren,
That’s a tough decision! You need to make a list of the pros and cons plus decide where you are in your career. How much longer will you be working in nursing.
I also took the exam many years ago and missed by one question and one section. I was totally deflated. Many years later I’m going to take it again but I’m going to retire within a year or two but the district is pushing it with compensation.
It would be great to have the title, it shows you’ve made a difference! If finances are the thing then maybe you should hold off. It would be a shame that you put all this work into it though. Just my take.

I'm also taking the exam next Friday for the first time! I'm so nervous.  I have taken all of the tests in the School Nursing Certification Review book and decent on them.  However I just took the Challenge The school Nurse questions review and didn't do so well.  I also did the sample questions in the Handbook on the website, and didn't do so great so I'm so on the fence about rescheduling.  Where can I get more practice exam questions?  Also, if I do not pass next Friday, can I pay again and retake the exam in the summer window or do I have to wait until the fall/winter window?  Thanks y'all!

It sounds like several of us are taking it Friday, July 7! I want it OVER WITH! I have so much anxiety about this test. I am studying and studying, but I feel like there is so much information that I don't know if I am prepared enough. I'm ready for Friday afternoon at this time when the test is over and I am eating something good in Raleigh, NC (pass or fail - LOL)

I’m rooting for you all! Please remember to breathe!
The test is 4 hours, most people finish in 2.5.
Take a short break part way through, the clock will remain running but give yourself 5 minutes. Do some meditation or relaxation or guided imagery.
Remember tips you learned along the way.
    You CAN do this.

Will it tell it shut off for us if we pass in 2.5 hours? I always feel like I need to use the whole time!

It is not like the NCLEX. You have to indicate that you are done. Make sure you answer every question. If it is taking you too long, mark it to go back to. Never leave a question blank. Choose a "guess" answer and if you really don't know use the same answer every time.

Best of luck to you and all who are taking the exam soon.  That's the attitude!  With all that we are studying and learning, it's a win win. Enjoy your celebratory meal.  YOU ARE PASSING!  :)

I sit for it on the 15th.
