    Dear All,
I took the exam yesterday morning in a little test center here in Skopje, Macedonia. When I finished the exam and saw that I had passed - (I peeked through my fingers I held up in front of my face), I about fell out of my chair. I cried with relief, I truly did.
I felt prepared going in, but I really had no idea how I had done.

I want to thank this wonderful group of my fellow school nurses from whom I learned so much about how to take this exam. Thank you also to Pat Krin for her information, tips, encouragement and support. I also thank Robin for mentoring this group, providing the sample test questions, cartoons, and great test taking tips.
Last but certainly NOT least, I want to thank Dr. Selekman for the wonderful e-course ( I took it twice), the review textbook, and the big School Nurse textbook. ( the BIBLE of school nursing!)
I used up four new highlighters reading and studying the e-course handouts, the book chapters, and everything I could print out.
I began studying in April and I am glad I began 3 months before exam day.
I took the practice exams multiple times until I knew not only the correct answers, but WHY the answers were correct. I also used Quizlet for speed testing. I loved the chapter tests at the end of each chapter in the Review Book, and the monthly challenge questions - all very helpful.
I have to say, I was amazed at how much I didn't know I didn't know. I have been an international school nurse since 2007 having lived and worked in Panama, Japan, and now in our 5th year living in Macedonia. I learned so much studying for this exam and I will put the many things I learned into my SN practice when we go back to school on August 7.

I can't believe it's over. Congratulations to all and thank you for the incredible work you do to help children all over the globe perform at their healthy academic best.
    Big hugs and warmest wishes,
    Sandey

Hello Pat! I apologize for the delay in getting back to you after your nice email.
My testing experience was actually very nice and much better than I expected. First of all, I fully anticipated having to travel to a bordering country to find a testing center where I could take the exam (Macedonia borders Greece, Serbia, Bulgaria, Albania, and Kosovo). Much to my surprise there is a testing center here in Skopje and only about 10 minutes from our apartment. It was small - only two computer stations - but the screen was very large, and the office guy was very helpful and spoke great English. I finished the exam in 1 hour and 45 minutes, and I was so relieved to pass on the first try. I think I floated on air down to our car where my husband was waiting for me.
Thanks again for the help and support. This group is invaluable!
    Warmest regards,
    Sandey

Sandey, I am so glad you had a good experience with your testing. I am always so excited when I see an overseas nurse taking and passing the exam, and thanks for sharing your experience with the group!

    Warm regards,
