Monthly Website Admin Meet up November 12, 2025
- Using the Announcements Widget for a specific purpose:
- If you displaying your Facebook page "feed" on your home page, you can use an announcement widget the same news items or ones that you would not normally place on Facebook. NYSASN has their Facebook page "feed" AND an announcement widget on their home page (https://www.nysasn.org/home) if you'd like to see how they use both.
- The person adding content to the announcement widget must be a site admin.
- The announcement widget creates a nice history of happenings or activities for the organization.
- Announcements are included in the Daily Digest email. Members can be subscribed to the site's discussion list via Real Time, Daily Digest or No Email. Only the Daily Digest will include announcement posts. By default, members are subscribed via Daily Digest.
- Take advantage of the new, visual widget used to share your most popular content or organize sub categories of a main topic called Featured Cards. - Password Protecting Conference Handouts: The best approach is to:
- Add a new page to your site (reach out for instructions if you don't have them handy);
- In the page settings, don't check the "visible in navigation" checkbox.
- In the page settings, change the "view permissions" to "logged in."
- Share the page link with attendees only.
- These Membership pages have been updated to the latest membership information from NASN. Other sites are being updated as soon as possible.
