Success here in PA! The test took about 2.5 hours for me to complete. What a relief it’s over and now the summer celebration can begin!
Absolutely passable with all the preparations we had. Good luck everyone!

I passed today! I am so relieved.
it was very hard. And I wanted to puke during the test.

I will say it was much harder than my previous certification. ( PCCN)

I want to thank you all for sharing. This has been a wonderful group. I have been thinking that it might be helpful if you all shared. For those of you who passed, I am hearing you all say it was hard.  What did you find hard and why do you think that was?

For those of you who failed, did you think it was hard when you were going through it? If so what did you think was hard.

Obviously, you can't share questions, that's against the rules, but maybe you all can give us some ideas, how to help others.

    Warm regards,

    Pat

I studied using the review book, the e course, and flash cards. I took all the practice tests within the book. Those prepared me for exam questions because they were presented very similarly. There were questions that I felt were not covered in those prep materials. They may be found in other resources that I did not seek out to prepare.

    Thanks,

    Jen

I scored a 718 I don't really know where that falls other than 620 is passing  the whole scoring system stressed me too

also I do not think that test should be easy- I am not saying that  otherwise certification would not mean anything!!! But- I do think it could be more dialed in to what we do day to day.

What I found hard was how broad everything is.. there are some things we absolutely must know the law, immunization, screenings, assessments etc. but if we encounter a more rare medical problem as a prudent nurse your going to look it up! We can't be expected to know everything about  everything if that makes sense.  And yes we are medical professionals and I chart in medical terms but I found some of the words used were higher level- think NP. I was able to deduce the meaning with elimination but during the test I was like surely I failed if I don't even know the meaning of these words.

Also I don't want to get specific and break any rules so if this is too specific please delete  but I had an infant question ( and it wasn't immunization!) and an adult question!!!!  I also had a question about the scientific organism that causes a certain disease. I focused more on the disease symptoms and Nursing interventions , treatments etc.. I don't think we have to know what organism causes them!!

I also had the question about infants.  It addressed a condition that was discussed in the e-course, but the question on the test specifically asked regarding the specific symptoms that would appear in an infant.

I also had the question regarding the specific infectious organism -- but I think that one was significant enough and we do enough education about preventing it, that it is a reasonable expectation for us to know.

I feel like I recall a question about an adult, too, but have already forgotten those details.  It sounds like we got the same version of the test!

I am thrilled to report that I took the test this morning and passed.  I felt like the preparation materials did an excellent job of preparing me for the test.  I did put an extensive amount of time into preparation (and I have been a school nurse for 16+ years).  I started studying for the test in February by reading the Comprehensive text for understanding.  I then went through the certification book, making my own flash cards for the areas I wasn't as familiar with.  I read the 10th edition School Nurse Resource Manual, and I took the e-course.  For the past month, I have been rewatching the e-course bit by bit almost every day -- I have viewed it probably 6-7 times total.  I also spent time reviewing my own flash cards.  There were a handful of questions that gave me pause, but otherwise, I felt confident, and I'm thankful for the resources that we had at our disposal!

Congratulations Crystal. You were obviously well prepared.

If you watched me that many times.....you could be next in line to start teaching the course!

    Well done.
