Hello fellow nurses! Does anyone know which study guide would be the best one to use/most beneficial? I have to pick one.

School Nursing Certification Review book, by Janice Selekman ($69) or the E-Course ($189)??

    Thanks so much!

It is hard to make a decision for someone else. We use the Review Book in this study group, the Review Course is very similar to the Review Book. Do you learn better by reading and then responding to the questions at the end or listening to the information.

    Warm regards,

Thank you for your response! I do learn better by listening. But wanted to make sure I had the same general information that is reviewed in this study group to be able to follow along with. So if the two are similar in content, it makes sense for me to purchase the e-course.

I am not sure how closely the recorded course follows the Review Book. I know that most of the information is the same, but not sure of the order.

Do you happen to know of any possible coupons for the E-course? There is a spot to apply a coupon, if available.

I am not sure, but I think that might be for an organization who is paying all or part of the cost. A number of states, school districts, and other programs are paying for participants to view the program.

As the author of both, I guess I am the best to respond to this question. The certification review book is certainly comprehensive; it is basically divided by body systems. However, it is not as comprehensive as the textbook...School Nursing: A Comprehensive Text. This is where you will go to get a fuller understanding of content you are missing or don't understand in the review book. The review book also has questions at the end of each chapter that some readers have found helpful.

The e-course is "everything you need to know in 8 hours". It is my best guess of the content that is on the exam focusing on what I think has the best chance of being asked. It does NOT follow the review book or the textbook because it is collapsed to focus on what I think is most important.
Keep in mind that for all of this, I am using ...I...  I do not write the test questions, so all of these resources are what I think is being asked and what school nurses need to know for best practice. The feedback from your peers and those who have come before you reinforces that all of these resources are helpful.
    Best wishes/
