For the past 29 years, I worked as a school nurse in the Nooksack Valley School District. This summer I started a new position as a School Nurse Corps Administrator for the Northwest Educational Service District. In this position, I provide consultation and support to the 35-member school district in a five county region. Additionally, I provide orientation, consultation, resources, and training to 13 small rural districts who meet the criteria as “most needy” for the School Nurse Corp Program.
I have been an active member of the School Nurse Organization of Washington for the past 15 years. I have served on the SNOW Board as area 1 representative, Vice President, President, NASN Director for SNOW, and currently am the Vice President of NASN.
My passion is school nursing and advocating for the students they serve. Helping nurses to find their voice to tell their stories is key to advancing the practice of school nursing. It is my honor to serve as NASN's Vice President and to continue to work on behalf of school nurses across the country.
