Kira Baldonado, MPH

    


Bio

Kira joined the staff of Prevent Blindness in 2011 as the Director of the National Center for Children’s Vision and Eye Health (the “Center.)  In that role, she is responsible for providing direction and leadership to early detection efforts and other essential public health interventions related to children’s vision screening systems.  Kira coordinates the strategic and programmatic efforts of the Center, including its National Expert Panel, Advisory Committee, Federal-level relationships, and state-level program initiatives.   Prior to joining the national staff, Kira had worked at Prevent Blindness’ Ohio affiliate for eight years as Director of Marketing and Community Services where she provided leadership in the development and implementation of statewide programming, organizational marketing, resource development and legislative outreach while managing a 7-member team.

Kira is a native of Ohio where she lives with her husband Andy and their two sons- Adan, age 11 and Sam, age 9.
