Good evening, everyone:

My name is Michelle Myles. I have been a school nurse for a year and a registered professional nurse for a total of 30 wonderful years.

I am enrolled in my final course for the School Nurse certificate program at Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois, and have completed the Illinois School Nurse content exam. After finishing the internship course, I will submit my paperwork to the state to receive my official Illinois Professional Educator License with endorsement as a Certified School Nurse (IL-PEL CSN).

Dr. Eileen Moss, president of the Illinois Association of School Nurses (IASN), informed me of this study group and who to contact to learn more about it. I wish to thank, Dr. Moss, Sandi Delack, MEd, BSN, RN, NCSN-E, FNASN, and Sarah Portle, MEd., BSN, RN, NCSN for the opportunity to join this group.

I plan to sit for the exam in the Fall and I am looking forward to journeying alongside each of you and learning with you.

Thank you. Be safe and well.

Sincerely,

Michelle Myles

Hi everyone.  I am in my 3rd year as a school nurse, but it's my 16th in the practice, with previous ICU and oncology/hospice experience.  I love this profession!  I am hoping to learn lots through the course/prep for the certification exam, increasing my knowledge so I can better serve my elementary students in Stuarts Draft, Virginia :)

Thank you very much for all your help.  This is my 4th year as a school nurse and I am very intimated about this class, but thanks to Christine Jaramillo I am signed up in ready to go! I am looking forward in learning and improving my skills as a school nurse for Mullen High School.

Thank you so much for creating this resource! This is my 5th year a school nurse and I am excited to pursue this certification. My reason is two fold. I want to ensure that I am staying up to date in my school nursing practice, but also feel like taking the test validates the expertise I already have a school nurse.
