Happy Friday!
Recently there have been a few posts that had to be pulled due to ability to trace the information to a particular student. I am asking that each of you post at least the bold test to your communities to help avoid this situation in the future. This message has been posted to both the All Member and SCHLRN communities.
Be sure to change your name and the community you are contacting.
NASN appreciates all the of the conversations that are posted on this community that support school nurses in their everyday
practice. With many school nurses practicing in isolation it is important
to have a forum where questions can be asked and others
can share their experiences. When you post please remember to consider the confidentiality.
Just a reminder that to de-identify information per FERPA the following information needs to be deleted:
Name , ID# , Grade, Gender, DOB, place, Religion, Country of origin, Sports & clubs, Academic performance, Employer, Discipline and "Anything else traceable." "Anything else traceable" means that if a reasonable person can figure out which student or family you are talking about, that is a FERPA violation. So be careful with posts to the board that identify your school and students' diagnoses that are unusual. Your email address gives it away and unless [your district] has a huge population with this disorder, I would not include that either.
It is always best to get someone else to post anonymously when including specific information or you can contact the community monitor to post your message at
szacharski@nasn.org
.
You can reference to the Code of Conduct as well and a link to it:

Thank you for making this community a valuable resource for school nurses.
Thank you for your assistance with this and all you do. Let me know if you have any questions.

The Beaverton School District recognized the diversity and worth of all individuals and groups. It is the policy of BSD that there will be no discrimination or harassment of individuals or groups based on race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, national origin, marital status, age, veterans' status, genetic information or disability in any educational programs, activities or employment.
