  • 1.  E-course CEU question

    Posted 04-04-2023 09:35

    Good morning!
I plan to take the e-course for certification review.  I'm going to take the test in the window that opens July 6.

I understand that the e-course offers CEUs.  Does it credit the CEUs after you have completed a course evaluation?  Or does it credit them when the video is completed?

I need the CEUs to apply to next school year's staff development days (so they must be completed once this school year is over).  I will view the course during the summer, but I'd like to go ahead and view it now as well, if I can postpone getting CEUs until summer.

Can anyone offer specific information about when e-course CEUs are credited?

    Thank you!!

Thank you, Lori, for the specific information!  I did contact nursebuilders & they said that the CEUs are available "at the conclusion of the course" which wasn't quite specific enough for my needs.

They did say that the e-course is available for 180 days once purchased.

You can access the CEU certificate under your account with NurseBuilders. Go to your account, then courses and certificates. It will be there.
Thank you for the information about the course being available for 6 months.
Something I did was view the course at the start of my studying and then I listened to it again in the few days prior to the actual exam. I think that helped me a lot and would advise it.

I didn't know about the e-course until I joined this group, either.  I have to say, it helped me a LOT.  Janice Selekman is really thorough in her review of the information and she is very personable.  I laughed at parts and wanted to give her a big hug in other parts.  It was worth the money because I walked into the exam and felt really confident (after those first few questions where I thought I had made a bad decision, lol).  Enjoy!  And good luck this summer!

Although I completed my eval after completing the program, I can't imagine why you couldn't hold off on the eval.
I hope this is helpful, but I'd still probably double-check with NurseBuilders.

    Hi Denise,

I would love to meet on Zoom to study & run things by each other. I am studying for the summer exam as well. I would love to take it on the 1st day to get it behind me & enjoy the summer. I have already failed this exam once as well, so really hoping I can pass this time!!

Thanks & look forward to a study group.
    Warmly,
    Denise Silva

For all who have failed the test in the past or even those taking it for the first time, I recommend the NurseBuilders Nursing Certification Exam Preparation Studying, Anxiety Management, Test Taking Techniques, it costs $10 and goes for 50 minutes, you also get 1 ANCC NCPD credit.

If you haven't checked out the NBCSN Exam Prep page I urge you to do so. It has a wealth of prep materials both free and for a fee.

I also urge you to download the NCSN Handbook, available on that page.

    Regards,
