All licensed nurses in Washington State have access to HEALWA, an online library of evidence-based resources including journal articles, patient education, ebooks and databases. Continuing education is also available through Lippincott Nursing CE Connection. HEALWA was created by the Washington State Legislature to improve patient care in Washington State. HEALWA provides access to the premier medical journal in the United States: Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), maintains a document delivery service to obtain requested articles HEALWA does not subscribe to, and provides online training to allow users to take advantage of resources to assist with patient care decisions.

I am curious who everyone uses for dental screenings in their schools. Currently we are using ToothSavers and they keep cancelling, taking a massive amount of staff time for scheduling, and just not easy to deal with. Looking to see what options there are while I am waiting for them to call me instead of the building secretary.

Camp Leo, for children with diabetes, is urgently seeking medical staff volunteers for High School Camp this summer. Typical schedule is July 15, check-in for staff training followed by camper check in on July 16-July 21. Please reach out if you have any questions. You do not need experience just a want to have fun while supporting an amazing group of campers.

NBCSN is pleased to share that there will be a new NCSN School Nursing Certification Review Book, written by Dr. Janice Selekman and Elizabeth Knox. The book will be available mid-to-late May. Please note: if you are registering for the exam and purchase the review book, please be aware that you will receive the 2020 edition. If you wish to wait for the new book, please DO NOT purchase a book during the registration process. We will share an announcement when the new book is available. The basic content is the same in both books. The 2025 updated edition will mirror the new re-organized Exam Content Outline that will be used for the exam beginning July 2025.
